Several Vendors and Organizers arrested in Las Vegas at Hempcon Over The Weekend

The medical marijuana convention that was held over the weekend at the Cashman Center shut down early on Sunday afternoon after several people were arrested.

Officials with the City of Las Vegas blame the organizers, while the organizers blame the police.

Others said the entire event was a mess.

Metro police said ten people were arrested, three received citations, five booths were shut down, and products and drugs like edibles and mushrooms were confiscated.

Josh Dean was working as a vendor at Hempcon. He said there was a heavy police presence.

There were even undercover and uniformed officers from a drug task force patrolling the area.

In video 8 News NOW obtained from Edibles List, which runs a magazine about edibles, attendees were seen booing the police.

Attendees spoke out about what happened on Twitter and Instagram. They complained about the medical marijuana convention and the busts. Metro said by the third and final day, it looked like a third of the vendors cut out of Hempcon.

Budsy Siegel's Top Five Cannabis and Marijuana Industry Tech Trends

The marijuana industry is booming.  Like the East Coat Goodfellas and Mob guys heading to Hollywood and Las Vegas, there is no shortages of Budsy Siegels out there trying to make a quick buck off the weed game.  If for the only reason being that the market is open and laws are being less of a head ache.  With a man standing in a desert, hands on his hips and hope in the air, sometimes the soil isn't as fertile as you'd like it to be even if you see it in your head
In some cases you could easily be restricted as far as having a large scale operation or a back room casino as you could put it.   When it comes down to it, protecting something is important, regardless if it's a breif case with a light bulb in it for a guy with a band-aid on his neck.  Times are getting tougher, but the boom times are here and in full swing.  Guess the innovation starts with you, and what you want to bring to the table. The cannabis culture is not one to just jump into just as a rookie cop wouldn't be the first one in the building.  There may be something your interested in if you've found this page, and are reading this article... a perfect example.
"Per Wikipedia- Siegel wanted to be a legitimate businessman, and in 1945, he saw an opportunity with William R. Wilkerson's Flamingo Hotel. Las Vegas gave Siegel his second opportunity to reinvent himself. In the 1930s, Siegel had traveled to Southern Nevada with Meyer Lansky's lieutenant Moe Sedway on Lansky's orders to explore expanding operations. There were opportunities in providing illicit services to crews constructing the Hoover Dam. Lansky had turned the desert over to Siegel, but Siegel turned it over to Moe Sedway and left for Hollywood.". With the Flamingo, Siegel would supply the gambling, the best liquor and food, and the biggest entertainers at reasonable prices. He believed these attractions would lure not only the high rollers, but thousands of vacationers willing to lose $50 or $100. William Wilkerson was eventually coerced into selling all stakes in the Flamingo..."
According to David Goldstein, co-founder of Potbotics Inc., the top five tech trends in the marijuana industry are:
Internet based technology
Smart machines
Analytics
Software-defined application and infrastructure
Security
Internet based technology:
This is in relation to selling, apps, smart phones, notifications, hang outs, google map locations to every day news and information.
Smart machines
Vaporizers, Vape pens, to the lap equipment for extractions and some breaking bad type stuff when you break it down.  Anything that blinks, makes noise, or makes growing Cannabis easier for the layman or even the heavy grower, is up for grabs.  Within the next ten years, is your idea something that will be around? Maybe so.
Analytics
What's Hot, What's not. How does one forecast these type of things? Well we're not sharing our secrets just yet.  But these numbers are imperative for banks, lenders, and anyone with money, to see if a certain area of focus is profitable exponentially.  Enough with the big words.  Lets move on to the fun one.
Software-defined application and infrastructure
Again I may be a little broad in my explanations, but apps and software is critical for success in the Marijuana Biz.  Kids want apps, kids want to read.  Kids may want to do a book report on Cannabis Benefits for Science class.  Who knows.  But the market for adults is vast and amplified by Ebay and Amazon for selling just about anything within the boundaries of intended use of the product.  Lets not forget the veteran Medical smokers that are now having more and more accessibility to their medication and finding easier ways to ease pain and not be treated like a criminal.
Security
This is an online aspect just as much as a physical matter.  Number one reason people don't grow weed in their house.  Robbery, guns, all that kinda stuff that makes one wet his pants a little just thinking about.  Well that's no longer the case.  Security details, cameras, motion sensors, and more expensive locks and screening capabilities are out there for the taking.  It's 2015 now, and the growth for Cannabis is not going to stop any time soon.  The generation of today grew up with it more prevalent than it has ever been since the 60's and 70's.  Time for less restrictions is called for and the states are still feeling a recession and it's proving itself to be a huge scale tipping fact that legal cannabis is working to balance the budget.  Securing property and information is critical for certain top secret growing techniques.
The Cannabis Culture is a rapid growing business to be in, and with the help from medical growth, the tech aspect of the marijuana industry is a great market to be in if you love pot. Could farm land for hemp turn the tables on other industries and rejuvenate communities that were lost with their changing environments or other growing issues.  The Wise Guy mentality isn't to screw over your friends, but definitely wouldn't shy away from letting a sucker keep his money.  Opportunity drove the mob, and putting a stranglehold on resources and dominating the competition is really considered the american way, if you hang out with a bunch of Scarface loving kids that grew up watching movies of White Gold and thinking the world is yours.  Well if you can stand the smell of cash, you might start liking the smell of weed.
David Goldstein will be speaking on the topic of marijuana technology trends at the Cannabis World Congress and Business Expo next month in New York. If you are trying to get into the marijuana industry, and specifically on the tech side, this will be a stellar opportunity to learn more

Sons of Anarchy is now at an end, but actor Kim Coates is playing the reverse of his roal from SOA, he's on the Law's side.
The actor is starring in the comic book adaptation Officer Downe, which is directed by visionary musician and director, M. Shawn Crahan from Slipknot.  The Movie Officer Downe also features Tyler Ross, Lauren Velez, Reno Wilson, and Bruno Gunn.
The movie stars Kim Coates as the same hero from the Comic Book, a face smashing, Los Angeles Police Officer who continuously dies in the line of duty and is then able to be revived and repeatedly resurrected with the help of the L.A.P.D. and sent right back to work. Ouch!
Officer Downe is based on the Man of Action imprint/Image Comics graphic novel and screenplay was written by Joe Casey.  The glorious illustrations are attributed to Chris Burnham.  The endless renditions of eyeballs and guts flying around the pages is what primes Officer Downe to be such a great watch and even a harder wait for it's release.
The film is produced by Man of Action Entertainment, Skip Williamson, Cole Payne, Crank co-director Mark Neveldine and Slipknot manager Corey Brennan. Voltage Pictures is currently pushing Officer Downe at Cannes Film Festival.
